![]() 1 hour to Auckland, then 1.5 waiting and then well over 3 hours to Sydney, and finally I could see again one of the most famous spots in the world - Sydney Operahouse, but this time from the air. Overall this was my second trip to Sydney, I was there few years ago on business. One last thing about New Zealand. A surprise was waiting for me there. Yesterday I have spent my last NZ$ 20 plus for the ticket to the museum and now I was told at the check-in that I have to pay airport tax or something like that, and it was around $25. Blind me. Why wasn't I told about that before? Later I realized that everyone leaving NZ has to pay that. So if you travel, make sure you have $25 in cash until last minute. Australia
![]() ![]() I found cheap hotel in Woolloomooloo, close to Kings Cross (be carefull there!) and last 2.5 days I spent cycling around the city. Met old friends, had "few" beers and made tons of pictures. And basically was relaxing. Most of my time I spent around Circular Quay watching the ferries, the other day I took one and went to Manly beach (North Sydney). And of course I had to see all the "must-see" spots in Sydney (Opera, Harbour Bridge, the tower, Darling Harbour). I skipped Olympic park - was too far.
Sydney is a great place to be but I was glad to be going home. On the day of return I again took the train to the airport. With the bike, not problems whatsoever. The only difference was that I was given a tape to block the front wheel from moving sideways. 23 hours later I was home :-) Distance in Sydney - ~60km
